Don Kuchenski

I grew up attending Sierra Madre Congregational Church. Early in high school I accepted Christ into my life. After college Becky and I met at SMCC and were married there in 1985. In 1997, we were part of the founding team of HOPE. This was all new to us as we prayer walked the neighborhoods and started cell (small) groups in homes before we ever opened the doors for church services. It was definitely a faith stretching time.
I was on the founding HOPE board from 2000-2005, and also led the missions’ team. Becky and I have led or been a part of many HOPE Groups, teaching Sunday school, and involved with various ministry teams.
Becky was a full time teacher before transitioning to substitute teaching. I am a manager at a family business, which requires me to wear hats in many areas including technology, employee benefits, sales, and operations. Becky and I love to travel and bike ride to coffee shops; I also enjoy photography and skiing.
Our oldest son, Daniel, is 33 and moved to Washington with his wife. Joel is 31 and lives in Texas with his wife and our two precious grandchildren (proud abuelo and abuela)! We are more than happy to show you a few hundred photos of them when you have the time!
We love being a part of the ministry at HOPE, with hearts to grow and live for Christ. God is working to transform my work and health stresses to joy by trusting him and not leaning on my own understanding.
